Tribute to Trevor Rhodes AKA Pinball
Unfortunately we have to bring some deeply saddening news to the players of laser tag. A valued member of Willows Sports Centre, Derby Megazone, Trevor Rhodes AKA Pinball passed away suddenly on Sunday 25th October.
Trevor had been playing Laser Tag for many years starting way back in the early 90’s when the Derby centre was a Laser Quest site. He then became a member of the Beeston Megazone site, then onto Nottingham before becoming a valued member of the Derby Megazone’s A team.
Trevor had accomplished many tournaments up and down the country winning a wide variety of trophies and also gaining many friends along the way.
I for one have had the pleasure of enjoying Trevor’s company on a member’s night and even the odd one or two Insomniacs nights, and many other players have also done so in the passed.
Trevor also taught me a thing or two about playing the game of Zone and always gave me a run for my money with me losing the game. Once or twice I got a tag on him which used to make me smile and always made him come after me. Those days were great fun.
Even away from the game of laser tag we would often meet on the same road where both our factories were situated. Many afternoons, we would pass the time talking about the world and putting it to rights.
One of the most nicest guys you could have ever met, and will be sorely missed by many.
Our sympathy goes out to all of his family members and we too are deeply saddened by the loss.
Long live the memory of Pinball.
